Living With Intention Aligning Your Daily Choices With Your Spiritual Goals.

How are we living life?

We intend to shower, drive to work, be on time, and work diligently. These are the small, everyday things we go through almost without thinking. We intend to do them, so we do.

My corporate routine was so on point, other people could plan their schedule around it. My start time was 6AM, and never once did I arrive after 5:40AM. Same door. Same hallway. Unzipping my coat.

I’d set my purse and bag down, hang my coat, grab my coffee cup, head straight to the break room, and return to prep for the day. Every Monday through Friday—for 17 years.

I intended to be a good employee, and I was.

Now here’s the real question:

Are we that intentional with God or with what God has given us?

I’ll wait.

That’s a NO.

Self-included.

Here’s why: just like when you know how far you can take things with someone and they’ll still stick around and love you, we often take God’s presence for granted. We know He’s merciful. We know He’s faithful. And so we let our intention for Him slip.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV):
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.”

Let’s pull it together—self-included.

Let’s be so intentional about our time with God and the blessings He’s given us that people know exactly what it is when we show up.

Imagine the shift when people say, “Oh, Kisha’s here—it’s about to go down for Jesus!” Because they know I didn’t come to play. I came on assignment.

That’s what intentional living looks like:

  • Spending time with God on purpose.

  • Caring for what He has given us.

  • Caring for ourselves, too.

We’ve been given free will to choose how we live. My desire is to align myself with His will, not my own, because my flesh will absolutely mess it up.

It takes discipline to move out of our own way. That’s why we must be intentional about spending time with God—because then the choices become easier. It’s like He’s making them through us.

And here’s the blessing: everything He has birthed in and through me—these devotionals, the prayer boxes, the podcast—it all comes from time spent with Him. None of this happens without intentional intimacy with the Father.

Now, I’m intentionally aligning my daily choices with my spiritual goals, and it feels so good.

Proverbs 16:3 (NIV):
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

So I ask you:

  • What are your spiritual goals?

  • Are you being intentional about them?

  • Have you created a routine or schedule to nurture them?

Repetitive actions become habit after just 21 days. Start small. Start focused. And then watch as intentional living becomes your new natural.

Closing Prayer

Father God, thank You for the ability to live intentionally. Help me to align my choices with Your will and not my flesh. Give me the discipline to commit to You daily, to nurture the gifts You’ve planted in me, and to walk in the purpose You’ve called me to. May everything I do be for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
