Anchored in His Peace

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
— John 16:33 (ESV)

Encouraging Message:

Life’s storms will come—tribulations are certain, just as Jesus said. But in Him, peace is also certain.

Not the kind of peace that comes from perfect circumstances, but the unshakable peace that comes from knowing God is with you, even in the chaos.

Raising a child battling bipolar disorder, depression, and a traumatic brain injury (TBI) has brought challenges beyond what words can express. My living situation hasn’t always been ideal, and at times, God was my only peace.

But that’s the beauty of His promise—peace is not found in the absence of trials, but in the presence of God.

Whatever storm you’re facing today, position yourself in His comfort. Let His peace be the anchor that holds you steady.

Take heart—Jesus has already overcome the world, and He will carry you through.

Isaiah 26:3 (NIV):
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."

Reflection:

  • What storm in your life is stealing your peace?

  • How can you shift your focus from the storm to God’s presence?

Journaling Prompt:

  • Write about a time when God’s peace carried you through a difficult season.

  • List three ways you can cultivate God’s peace in your daily life.

Closing Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for overcoming the world. Thank You for the peace You offer me even when life feels out of control. Help me to stay anchored in You. Quiet the storms around me and the ones within me. I trust that Your peace will carry me through every trial. In Your name, Amen.
