Letting Go and Letting God: Surrendering Our Children to His Plan

When I think about surrendering my children to God, my heart is immediately drawn to the ultimate sacrifice—God giving His only Son for us.

His only child.

Yet, He blesses some of us with multiple children, and still, we selfishly hold on to them, refusing to surrender them completely to Him.

💔 My God today… help us, Lord.

I personally apologize to God for the selfish years I spent trying to hold on to my children when they have always belonged to Him.

Lord, I give them back to You. I have given them all to You.
And I ask for Your forgiveness for ever thinking I could do better than You.

Letting Go Is Not Easy—But It Is Necessary

As parents, our first instinct is to step in and help our children when we can.
We love them, and we want the best for them.

But guess what? Jesus loves them more.

And His best for them is far greater than anything we could ever offer.

  • We want to discipline them, but sometimes, we are supposed to take our hands off.

  • We want to say, “I told you so,” but sometimes, we are supposed to stay silent.

  • We want to fix things, but God is asking us to trust Him instead.

Fully surrendering our children to Papa is deeper than what we think it is.

Yes, He carries them, but let’s take it a step further.

If you are a single parent, like me, Jesus is your relief.
He is the Father who never leaves, never fails, and never runs out of grace.

He gives us peace when we trust Him with what matters most—our children.

Trusting God’s Plan for Our Children

This scripture always touches my heart:

Proverbs 16:9 – "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

God has already established their steps.
What more is there for me to do?

This is where I find my peace.
I have done all that I can do, and now, I let God do the rest.

Isaiah 26:3 – "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."

I fully trust in the Lord.

Yes, sometimes my flesh rises up, and I start wondering: What else can I do?
But then, Papa gently reminds me:

💡 “You are My assistant.”

And I step back.

No Worry—Only Prayer

Philippians 4:6 – "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

I already made my request known to God.
I know I did it in faith, standing on solid foundation.
And so, I remind myself—
There is nothing else for me to do.

Give yourself some peace, Mama.
You are not in this alone.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the precious gift of our children. We acknowledge that they belong to You, and we surrender them completely into Your hands. Lord, forgive us for the times we have tried to hold on, to control, or to fix things ourselves. Give us the strength to trust You fully, knowing that Your plans for them are good.

Help us to walk in peace, free from worry, standing in faith that You are guiding their steps. Let us find comfort in Your Word and confidence in Your promises. We declare that our children are covered, protected, and led by Your divine wisdom.

We love You, we trust You, and we surrender it all to You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
