The Beauty of Starting Over: Recognizing the grace and strength in fresh beginnings.
Do we truly understand the beauty of a fresh start?
Everything old has been washed away—it’s of old no more. We now stand on a clean slate, ready to begin again. How beautiful is that?
I’m 51 years old, and yet again, my God has given me the grace to start over. Not because I’m perfect, but because He’s not done with me yet. I hear Him saying:
“Kisha, I am not done with you. I know you got it in you. Come on, girl—I opened this door for you. Let’s go!”
This brings me to tears because in this world, one mistake can get you written off. Parents, siblings, children, society—people may label you as a waste of time. But God?
God says, “No, you are Mine. And I said I’m not done with you.”
Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV):
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
That is one of the most beautiful truths I can imagine. The grace in it humbles me. I’m so thankful to be a child of God.
In my younger days, I thought a fresh start was punishment. I didn’t see it as a new opportunity. I thought:
“Ugh, I have to do this again?”
But now I know—it wasn’t, “You have to do this again.” It was:
“You GET to do this again.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV):
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Perspective is key. It’s not about how many times we’ve started—it’s about what we’ve learned. This time, I know what didn’t work. I know what and who worked well.
So now? My fresh start comes with a new vision and a plan to pursue the assignment. And on top of all that, this time I prayed about it.
That’s the difference. That’s the blessing in the delay. 🙌🏽
Now, I have the strength to endure the bumps in the road—and the wisdom to take them to God, not try to handle them on my own. Now I know that He is with me through it all.
This fresh start? It’s filled with gratitude, obedience, and trust.
So here’s what I say to you, Sis:
Sit Pretty & Pray, Pretty Girl. 💖
You’ve been given a fresh start. Embrace it.
Closing Prayer
Father God, thank You for the grace to begin again. Thank You for not counting me out, even when others did. Help me to see every new beginning as a blessing, and give me the strength to walk in it with faith, wisdom, and joy. May I always take my assignments to You first. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
