When God Feels Silent – Understanding Seasons of Waiting
Whew, y'all… when I tell you I was lost in the sauce when it came to understanding the seasons of waiting, I mean LOST.
We live in a microwave culture—we want things quick, fast, and in a hurry. And I was no different. I wanted answers NOW, I wanted change NOW, and I wanted God to move NOW.
Waiting? For what? I had no patience for that.
Learning to Rest in the Waiting
What I have come to realize—the hard way—is that there is beauty in the waiting. There is growth. There is pruning. But only if we wait in His grace and mercy.
I used to think I was the most impatient, controlling person ever. And maybe I was! But what I learned—fast and not slow—is that I have NO control. My impatience wasn’t going to speed up God’s process. If anything, it was prolonging it because I wasn’t being still, humble, and teachable in my waiting season.
So what did I do?
I repeated unnecessary seasons over and over again.
God’s Timing is Always Perfect
Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."
And Ecclesiastes 3:11 says:
"He has made everything beautiful in its time."
Sis, don’t repeat unnecessary seasons like I did.
Don’t rush ahead of God’s plan.
Your Season of Waiting is Preparing You
When we rest in God’s grace, we allow Him to:
✅ Develop us for the next chapter
✅ Prune us so we understand and grow
✅ Prepare us for the blessing ahead
But when we are too busy being "busy bodies", we will miss it every time.
I almost missed the season I’m in right now.
And let me tell you, I am so thankful for a couple of trusted sisters in Christ who kept reminding me to:
✦ Wait
✦ Watch
✦ Rest
Because if I had kept trying to rush things, I would have blocked my blessing.
If You’re in a Season of Waiting…
Know this: God has something in store for you.
Praise Him now.
Be thankful now.
Because when your breakthrough comes, you’re going to have a VICTORY PRAISE like never before! More importantly, you’ll see it, recognize it, and feel every bit of it.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that Your timing is perfect. When we grow weary in waiting, help us to trust You fully. When we feel anxious or impatient, teach us to rest in Your grace.
Lord, we surrender our need for control and exchange it for Your perfect peace. Give us wisdom to see the beauty in this season, and strengthen us so we don’t miss the lessons You are teaching us.
We trust You. We wait for You. And we praise You in advance for what’s to come.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
